My Activities

  • Participants are greeted with a welcome message, and they can see a consent survey for the study they are participating in.
  • The study name, study description and logo are displayed (if the logo and description have been set).
  • If they participate in multiple studies, there is a button for participants to select a different study (to view the corresponding consent survey).
  • Consent surveys are typically divided into 'steps'. Each step is displayed as a row in the My Activities page. Each row has:
    • Step number
    • Title of the step
    • Tooltip with a description of the step
    • An icon and words to indicate whether the consent survey questions within that step have been answered. Options are:
    • If the consent survey questions have been reviewed and answered, then the review date is displayed
    • There is a button to either Review consent survey questions (if they have not been viewed and answered), or Edit question responses (if question have previously been answered)
  • There is a 'View Responses' button that generates and downloads a PDF that contains the Organisation and study logos, participants details, consent survey questions and responses for the currently selected study (with the date the questions were answered), and the date the PDF was created. The PDF filename includes the study name, participant name and the date the PDF was generated.
  • Clicking on either 'Review' or 'Edit' for a step (depending on the status of a participant's responses) displays the information for that step of the consent survey step. This includes:
    • A progress bar to indicate where this step fits within the entire consent survey
    • The step title and description
    • A row for each element of the step. Each element can be a:
      • Video/embedded link
      • Subheading
      • Checkbox question
      • Multi-choice question
    • Video/embedded link elements render in a full-width embedded player (iframe) with a fixed height of 500 pixels and https enforced.
    • Subheading elements contain text only, and serve to organise the elements within a step or provide more context to the subsequent elements.
    • Checkbox questions display question text; an optional question description (displayed as a tooltip when hovering over an information icon); and a checkbox for participants to mark that they agree with the question text.
    • Multi-choice questions are the same as checkbox questions, with the exception of having multiple options (with radio buttons and text) for participants to select from.
    • After reviewing each question in the consent survey step, the participant can select from up to three buttons:
      • "Back" (if the step is not the first step) - to return to previous step
      • "Save and exit" - to return to the participant portal dashboard
      • "Next" (if the step is not the last step) - to proceed to the next step
    • Checkbox questions can optionally be mandatory for a consent survey. If a participant saves a step without marking a mandatory checkbox question, a modal appears with the text 'Are you sure? You have not selected a required statement. If you choose "Proceed", a Genetic Counsellor will contact you to talk about your options. It may take 7 days for the study genetic counsellor to contact you. [Proceed][Review answers] Please click "Review Answers" if you would like to go back and change your responses.' and buttons for Proceed and Review answers. Participants can either proceed, or return to the step review page.
